| 2.6.05 Greetings! I hope that you or someone you know are interested in serving on the Task Force. It is my hope that several of you will apply. More than 4 years ago San Elijo Hills applied for a Conditional Use Permit to construct a golf course atop Cerro de las Posas. The issue still hasn't gone away and the City still has not issued the Subsequent Environmental Impace Report. I'd like to know why, and when they intend to? Please contact me by phone if you have any questions or concerns: 760-539-2055 Also, forward this message to anyone interested in applying. Ridgeline Task Force Applications Available Now at City Hall The deadline for applying for an appointment to the Task Force is February 10th at 5:00 pm. Appointments will be made at the February 22nd Council meeting. We would like to see participation from every section of the city. The Ordinance has established Planning Commissioner Jim Hernandez as the non-voting Chairman, and the Chamber of Commerce & the BIA have each been granted a member designee. (Another special interest, the Sierra Club will not be represented.) There will be seven positions open for appointment. Non-resident property owners are eligible for appointment. Please consider becoming a Task Force Member. *Note: The interim protection ordinance does not prevent San Elijo Hills from continuing to pursue a ridgeline golf course. The following text appears on the city Web Site: RIDGELINE PROTECTION TASK FORCE The Ridgeline Protection Task Force, working with City staff, is established for the purpose of reviewing and defining the primary and secondary ridgelines within the City of San Marcos and its current sphere of influence and to establish policy recommendations in the form of an Ordinance to protect the unentitled ridgelines within the City and its existing sphere of influence, for submission to the Planning Commission and City Council for review, amendment and adoption.
